Another One Done And Sent To The Editor

Picture
I'm Robert E Kreig and I make things up.

So, the author types the last word, finishes with a punctuation mark that is either a full-stop or period depending upon where you are at the time. I like to think of it by the terminology often referred to by my young students, the dot thingy at the end of sentences.
My point, I have finished writing my latest manuscript.
Now, it has been handed over to my amazing editor and it is a waiting game of sorts until it is returned with the multitude of remarks that indicate the grammatical errors, continuity issues and downright poor writing skills of the idiot that sits behind this keyboard.
I'm not sure how this one will be received.
It's not a Woodmyst novel.
I think it's a little darker than anything I've written previously.
Definitely outside of my comfort zone.
But I guess that's the challenge for authors.
We need to step outside the familiar and allow ourselves to explore a little.
So, I'm at the stage of letting my awesome editor sift through my work. Most novels tell me that this is where the author lights a cigarette, or a stogie, and puffs away contently as he or she lets go of their masterpiece, allowing it to wander off t the next level of its development.
Not me.
I don't smoke.
I made another cup of coffee instead.
I've been drinking so much of the stuff, I think I'll be up all night releasing the flood gates.
The next big question is, where to next?
Should I write something a little further out there where I haven't been before?
Perhaps I might return to Woodmyst once again.
I'll sleep on it and make my mind up tomorrow, or the next day.
