Having read books five and six of the of The Woodmyst Chronicles, I was really excited to get my hands on number seven, The Brides of Woodmyst. I have come to expect a certain flair from author Robert E Kreig, and he continues to deliver in his latest addition to the series. Robert E Kreig provides an elegant balance of history, description, dialogue, world building, and character development that works flawlessly with the intricately designed and ever advancing plot. Once again we are delivered a vivid and interesting cast of characters. Trials and hardship stand before them, and they must rise against these, lest they be crushed. I never fail to be captivated by his writing style, imaginative descriptions, brilliant scene settings and forever rising stakes. Things began so simply for Alice, but things were never easy. To see her claw her way to where she now stands is amazing, and she is not alone in such growth. This is one story where the characters, events, and plot all drive the reader forward, making it impossible to put this book down.

The seventh book in The Woodmyst Chronicles by Robert E. Kreig, The Brides of Woodmyst is a powerful and gripping story set in a beautifully developed fantasy world. The characters are strong and well developed, with a cast that is a beautiful mix of male and female characters, with realistically varying levels of strength and skill. Regrets, tears, mistakes, victories, joy, and smiles fill this story, giving us a glimpse into the lives of all of those portrayed. The style of Kreig’s writing makes it easy to effortlessly lose oneself in the story, and the descriptions are detailed and varied enough to allow your imagination to run wild through the scenery. Altogether, it’s a very pleasing and accomplished novel!

The Brides of Woodmyst by Robert E Kreig is an exceptional addition to the Woodmyst saga. Kreig has a definitive talent for storytelling, each bite offered layer by layer with a measured hand and skilled narrative. The world building is extraordinary and, in my opinion, where Kreig really shines as a writer, delivering a landscape and a taste of Woodmyst (and what surrounds it) without excessive information dumps. Reader fatigue that is sometimes a side effect of saga style series isn't an issue here since the dialogue is just as punchy as the action scenes. I would absolutely recommend the Woodmyst series to lovers of authentic epic fantasy and a story line that just keeps on giving.
